Do you know when Harry Potter's special day is? I didn't either until I saw an advertisement for a "Potter Run" to celebrate Harry's birthday. Knowing Ben would get really into it, I signed us up. It happens to be July 31, 1980, which means we were celebrating Harry's 34th birthday this year. Harry is a lot older than I thought he was. I had no idea we were so close in age. He could be my little brother.
We ran around Liberty Park. We were supposed to go twice, but Sadie wasn't in the mood so we collected our medals, and our cake, waved our wands, and headed to the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner.
Professor Quirrell showed up at the finish line.
Platform 9 and 3/4...
He insisted on wearing Alan's glasses to start the race. He was a little depressed he'd left all his Harry Potter garb in Alabama.
Some good friends joined us for the run.
Happy Birthday, Harry!! We look forward to celebrating your day again next year.
How fun! Your kids are getting so big! Miss you!
