A March Vest

March happens to be my favorite month.  Yes, there's a special day for me in March, but it's more than that.  I love the unpredictability and the dependability of Spring that clash together during this month.  The bulbs forcing their way out of the cold ground and the air that's just not quite warm enough for shorts yet.  And after all the red and white of Christmas and Valentine's we finally get to see green.  I only doubted my yarn choice for a second, thinking it might turn out too boyish, but a vest goes with anything and I think this green is just the hue for Spring.

My dear friend Mamabyrd gifted me the pattern in a book for Christmas and I love it's simplicity.  It's a quick knit.  I went up a needle size for the next vest, a lovely indigo colored one, but for this month green does the trick.

  1. That is the cutest green vest and March is one of my favorite months too, but for no good reason, I just like March. When it comes I breathe a sigh of relief and say to myself "alright, we survived January and February, let's enjoy March".

  2. Brooke, it's adorable. Garter stitch is really growing on me lately. I love the one big button in front. It's so funny that we posted vest projects on the same day--I feel like a blog copy cat lately. I love the green and it doesn't look boyish at all paired with those sweet blue skinnies and that great striped shirt. What a fun outfit. I think I could dig up something in my wardrobe that would look similar to that. I think I should.

    Oh, she's beautiful.
